swapped my pre-workout for matcha and honestly it slaps
Right so I've been off the powdered pre-workout stuff for about three months now. Wasn't a dramatic decision, I just ran out one day before a heavy squat session and grabbed my matcha instead. Figured it was better than nothing.
And honestly? I haven't gone back. The thing with pre-workout for me was always the crash halfway through — I'd come in buzzing, hit a wall around the accessory work and feel a bit grim for the rest of the evening. With matcha I just feel... steady. No spike, no slump, just focused. I mix it pretty strong, about 20 minutes before I'm due to lift, and I do still take my creatine alongside it obviously — that's non-negotiable, always has been. The two together have become my thing. I'm not saying it'll work for everyone and I'm not pretending I fully understand the science behind it, but for me the focus during my heavier sets has genuinely been better. Like I'm actually in the lift rather than just going through the motions.
Mind you I did go through a phase of making it too watery and wondering why I felt nothing lol. Ratio matters.
