10 minutes or I'm not doing it
Honestly before a morning session I cannot be bothered. Like physically cannot. So it's either something that takes no thought whatsoever or I'm just paddling out on nothing and regretting it by wave three.
What I actually do: frozen berries straight from the bag, banana, oat milk, big scoop of whey, blend and go. Done in maybe four minutes if the blender doesn't kick up a fuss. Sometimes I throw a spoon of nut butter in if I remembered to buy it, which is not always.
The other one I keep going back to is just eggs scrambled with whatever's in the fridge — usually spinach and a bit of feta — and that's it. Proper job, takes longer than the smoothie but not much.
- frozen berry + banana + oat milk + whey = the reliable one
- scrambled eggs with whatever green thing is going sad in the fridge
- overnight oats if I actually remembered the night before (rare)
To be fair I used to think breakfast had to be this whole thing but honestly the simpler the better before a surf. Heavy food and a 2ft shore break is not a vibe.
